Tendency Survey on SDG Priorities of OIC Member Countries

SESRIC finalised the collection of feedback for the “Tendency Survey on SDG Priorities of OIC Member Countries” in line with the relevant resolutions taken during the three summits of the Standing Committee for Economic and Commercial Cooperation (COMCEC) of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) held in 2015, 2016, and 2017. The COMCEC has designated SESRIC as a focal point at the OIC level with identifying the SDGs priorities of the OIC member countries which will contribute to the operational planning of the activities to be conducted concerning the SDGs until 2030 and submitting regular report to its Follow-Up Sessions and Annual Sessions.


Survey on Islamic Finance Industry Database for OIC Member Countries

SESRIC conducts the Survey on “Islamic Finance Industry Database for OIC Member Countries” with the aim to gather a preliminary insight about existing data collection, compilation and dissemination concerning Islamic finance practices in OIC Member Countries.


Mapping the Landscape of Development Assistance and Cooperation in OIC Member Countries

SESRIC carries out the project on “Mapping the Landscape of Development Assistance and Cooperation in OIC Member Countries” with the aim of developing a directory of National Development Assistance Agencies and relevant stakeholders in OIC Member Countries.


NGO Capacity Building Training

SESRIC, in collaboration with Corporate Governance Academy (KYA) and The NGO World Foundation organized an NGO Capacity Building Training on 17-18 November 2018 at Yenikapı Eurasia Culture and Art Center in Istanbul, Turkey on the sideline of the Third International NGO Fair.


SESRIC’s Catalogue of Economic and Social Researchers (CESR)

SESRIC invites experienced economic and social researchers to apply to be included in its Catalogue of Economic and Social Researchers (CESR) in different thematic areas. The main objective is to benefit from the knowledge and expertise being accumulated outside of the Centre and allow them to contribute to the solutions provided by SESRIC on different socio-economic challenges faced by the OIC member countries.


Tabriz, The Capital of Islamic Tourism for 2018

The historical city of Tabriz in Iran was selected as the Capital of Islamic Tourism for 2018.

The announcement was made during the 9th Islamic Conference of Tourism Ministers held on 21-23 December 2017 in Niamey, Niger, where ministers of tourism of OIC Member Countries approved Tabriz as the capital of Islamic tourism for 2018.

 


Al-Quds was declared as “Youth Capital” in 2018

The capital city of the State of Palestine, al-Quds al-Sharif, was declared as the "OIC Youth Capital 2018” by The Islamic Conference Youth Forum for Dialogues and Cooperation (ICYF-DC), announcing a year of landmark initiatives for Palestinian youth that seeks to raise international awareness of the Palestinian issue and preserve the Islamic character of al-Quds al-Sharif.


SESRIC Statistics Internship Programme

The Statistical, Economic and Social Research and Training Centre for Islamic Countries (SESRIC) offers internships to highly motivated and successful young people at SESRIC headquarters in Ankara, Turkey, with a minimum duration of four weeks.  Statistics Internship Programme seeks interns especially in the following fields: statistics, economics, business, banking and finance, mathematics and other related fields involving data literacy.
